A Little Bit About Us ..

Hey rock fans ! you've made it to the site because you've obviously heard about New Zealand's hottest up and coming bold rock act [PROLEPSIS].

Firstly, the band is made up of 4 uber experienced musicians based in Auckland New Zealand, starting with Riley Al-Johary on vocals and guitar with over 12 years experience in rock bands, Nathan Garton on lead guitar, Field on bass guitar & B.V's, and Carl Hayman (ex Epitome on drums).

With plenty of upcoming shows, we will do our best to keep you updated on all our media exposure, videos, songs, albums etc as they all come about.

Make sure you catch us on ...
As the beat gets counted out you can sense that something big is about to happen. Bang! From the first crack of the drums you’re drawn in, soon hit by the tight bass tones, then before you know it a sharp electrifying shred of guitars. Your heart runs, your attention is theirs. Sliding in over the top comes the cool, smooth vocals. It’s a bitter sweet sound with the bold rock punch wrapped in a silky melodic package. It puts a smile on your face for days, all you know is you just want more!

This four piece rock powerhouse is lead by Riley Al-Johary; he projects mature song-writing with a voice to be reckoned with. Nathan Garton's guitar riffs pour out loud, thick and solid. Paul Field executes tight bass grooves that have enough gravitational force to pull the Earth out of orbit. The powerful, precise beats from Carl Hayman on drums provide the robust backbone of this potent brew. With seamless integration and absolute dedication to that which is rock, this band is the complete package. The Prolepsis sound can broadly be described as Punchy Melodic Rock, with hints of great bands like Foo Fighters, Muse and Alice in Chains. A spectrum of sound spans from acoustic ballads to intensified rock, which powerfully project their emphasis on emotive melodies, expressive lyrics and dynamic rhythms. With a sound and precision that that feels like the compilation of a life time of performing, the band's ambition is to continue to share their unique sound experience with as many people as possible.Prolepsis already have one E.P. to their name, produced and engineered at On The Edge Studios in 2004 with previous band members, which was well received by a large audience. With the evolution of the band in 2008, Prolepsis once again hit the studios, but this time at a much higher level to epitomise the new direction and structure of the band. The new EP, entitled "Revolve", was produced & engineered by Stephen James at Counterpart Studios in early 2009, mastered by Angus McNaughton (Che Fu, Talking Heads, Strawpeople) and was released to stores in July 2009, featuring their debut single “Inner Reflection”.

Keep your eyes peeled for this bold, up and coming Rock Band.
